I gave it one star because the cover is actually pretty nice. Despite the title, there really aren't many quotes at all. Some are from films, some from real life, and some from other people. It is interspersed with pictures and some biographical information. I was expecting a book packed with all his awesome movie lines, but this just seemed like a quick throw together to profit off the John Wayne name. I bought it as a gift but returned it. The reviews (and the title) waaaaay overstated the value of this book.
This book is great! Pages are good quality. Cover feels like leather. Pictures are clear. Funny quotes from all sorts of people. Can't wait to give this as a gift. Price was good too.
What a beautiful book! I thought I had found everything on John Wayne, but this book is truly premiere! The photos ALONE are amazing, and many I had never seen before. This will be a fabulous gift for my husband who is a huge John Wayne Fan. So glad I found this. It took a little longer to receive than usual, but worth the wait! I gave him this book today for Christmas and he’s called me tonight saying it’s by far his favorite present, and he’s halfway through it! :) Any Wayne fan needs this added to their collection.

Not what I was expecting at all - this book is much NICER than I thought! Each page has a photo of John Wayne and a life quote. A well made and a nice memento. Good for a side table as well. The leather-like binding really gives it a nice look and feel. Great quotes I had not seen or heard before. Well worth it as a gift for a huge John Wayne fan.
